A Few Words of Advice

Hey there, everyone! Today I wanted to bring up an important topic, in hopes that I can lend a hand to anyone out there who needs it. I've seen this same issue being dealt with every day - people calling names, spreading rumors, and threatening others online. If you've experienced it before, then you probably know what I'm talking about- it's called cyberbullying. Cyberbullies might seem similar to regular bullies, people who purposely hurt others' feelings in order to feel superior. But cyberbullies aren't regular bullies at all. Instead of being mean in person, they do it online - on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and even in Woozworld. The reason for this is that it can be easier to sit behind a screen and type than to stand in front of someone and pick on them. Cyberbullies are afraid because they know that what they're doing is wrong. They rely on their keyboard and their angry feelings to deal with their problems, instead of thinking the situation through and finding a better approach to it.

We've all been cyberbullied at one point, so let's prevent it from happening to more people! Always check with a parent or guardian to ensure you're allowed to use a certain website. Never interact with someone you don't know or don't feel comfortable with. And most importantly, don't cyberbully! It's never okay to treat anyone like that, no matter what. So let's all remember to be careful online!
