In my opinion, there will be tough competition between Captain Phillips, Gravity, Her, The Wolf Of Wall Street and Philomena. Although all the movies are wonderful those 5 movies are really great. My favorite was Gravity, Sandra Bullock is a really great actor. Even though the movie's setting was in outer space where it's really quiet and isolated, the action and drama between Sandra Bullock and George Clooney was really great.
My second favorite is "Her". People may think this is a crazy weird and awkward movie, but unlike other directors this director decided to make the movie be based on a really abnormal love. Man and technology are great together. So instead of computers taking over the world, the made an entire love cycle. This film was wonderful, and yes I've seen all of them :).
My last Favorite is "Captain Phillips". The suspense in this movie was wonderful. Just another day at work on a ship, all of a sudden African pirates decided to hijack the ship. Tom Hanks in a magnificent actor so while he was acting, it was like it was really happening, he made the audience feel the pain. There was little peaks of drama in this movie. The lead pirate had a family to go back to, a daughter, which was the only reason why he was doing what he was. I'm sure some parents felt for him.
